I have an allergy, can I consume your products? In addition to Milk, Egg, Soy and Wheat Allergens that are produced at our facility, we also handle products that contain both Tree Nuts and Peanuts. FGO purchases ingredients from suppliers who follow good manufacturing practices which includes allergen management control. FGO follows the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act requirements for labeling of all our products. Given that our products are produced in facilities that contain common allergens, our recommendation would be to avoid our products if you have a common allergy, out of an abundance of caution.

Stinging Nettle Leaf Tea

Ingredients

 

  • 1-2 tbsp dried nettle leaves
  • 1-2 cups of boiling water

 

Instructions Boil water. Turn heat off and add Nettle Leaf. Stir. Cover with lid and steep for 5 minutes. Pour through strainer into cup. Sip and feel good!

Nettle Leaf Tincture

Ingredients/Materials

 

  • 1 pint 90 proof alcohol, like vodka or gin
  • 4 oz FGO Organic Nettle Leaves (or enough to fill the pint jar half way)
  • Pint-size canning jar with lid
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Dark bottle and dropper to store tincture

 

Put the nettle leaf and alcohol in pint jar, stir and cover with the lid. Label the jar with contents. Place the jar in a cool, dark place, and shake it daily. After 2-3 weeks, strain into bowl and use wooden spoon to press down on herbs left in strainer to get all the goodness. Pour the finished product into tincture bottle, label and seal the lid tightly.

Tropical Nettle Smoothie

Ingredients

 

  • 1 banana
  • 1/4 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1/4 cup nettle leaves
  • 1/4 cup spinach
  • 1/4 avocado
  • 1/4 cucumber
  • 1 cup coconut milk

 

Instructions

Add items to blender and blend long enough to end up with a smooth mixture as once nettle leaves are well shredded and blended, they lose their sting. Sip and feel good!
